South Peninsula High School’s matric class of 1979 had their 40th reunion in September but brought more than memories and old tales to the party. The group returned to the school to reconnect with each other and with the school, and ensured the reunion was both a celebration and an opportunity to support their alma mater. They collectively contributed R21 000 to the school in support of its many initiatives. Chairperson of the reunion committee, Royston Pillay, said the class of ‘79 continued to be inspired by the fact that South Peninsula remained a yardstick for values and standards worth celebrating and has a high impact that continues to be a leading light for what is possible.
