Keith Blake, Ottery
South African politicians of all parties seem to have forgotten one fundamental right, which is that the people shall rule.
That fundamental right means that the citizens, not the politicians, must rule South Africa.
We want a referendum done in the Western Cape to give the instruction by the majority of the people that they want the South African National Defence Force to assist us against gangsterism.
The people need to, via referendums, tell the politicians that they the people want them to arrest our corrupt politicians and recover all stolen monies, the people’s money.
The Public Protector must again look at that fundamental right in our Constitution; that the people shall rule and she must take her people’s instructions to heart and carry our their requests and needs.
That is a democracy, which we all fought for and seem to have forgotten about and, as far as we know, we are not under a dictatorship where certain people rule us at their own pleasure and leisure.
A quote by Abraham Lincoln: “Government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.”
