The Cape Flats Development Association (CAFDA), hosted a thanksgiving event at their new premises in Schaapkraal on Sunday March 1.
This event coincided with the organisation’s 75th anniversary celebrations and honoured Cafda stalwarts such as Fred Europa and Dr Margaret Elsworth.
The guest list included previous governing board members, former employees, community organisations, Cafda partners and a host of other dignitaries.
Dr Elsworth and Mr Europa have served the organisation for over 60 years in their individual capacity and they are both still very passionate about the organisation.
Chairperson of Cafda’s governing board, Mark Rossouw said: “The Cafda governing board felt it was obligatory to accolade them and this event was a culmination of the governing board’s appreciation for them as collective altruistic community service providers to the local communities, which Cafda have served over the 75 years of its existence.”
Mr Rossouw said the event also featured several keynote speakers who not only “accoladed the organisation for its role over the 75 years, but who also uttered sentiments of more support for the organisation.”
