Cancer awareness

Dancers from Grades 4 to 7 performed during the special ceremony.

Levana Primary School in Lavender Hill hosted a cancer awareness event last week to honour and remember cancer survivors as well as those who have died from the disease. Teachers, pupils and school staff wore pink to commemorate the occasion and motivational speakers gave the pupils a pep talk about the disease. A school nurse also explained what the disease is, what the symptoms of the disease include and how to do breast examinations for yourself. The school plans to run the programme annually.
