Motoring enthusiasts were in for a treat on Sunday February 2 as a fleet of old cars from the Crankhandle Club in Wynberg made their way to Simon’s Town for the annual Kalk Bay Veteran Run. The run, included veteran cars (those built before 1919) and vintage cars (those produced between 1919 and 1930). Spectators were treated to a display of vintage cars that are part of Cape Town’s most active old-car clubs. Established in 1966, The Crankhandle Club is dedicated to preserving and restoring veteran, vintage, and classic cars and to ensuring that the stories of their owners, manufacturers, and the era they represent are preserved for future generations.
