Dignity packs for girls

Tokai Lions Club president Charles Flanagan, Suzanne Lotriet of Tokai Lions Club and Deborah van Rooyen of Crestway High School.

Tokai Lions Club handed out 400 “Dignity packs” to Steenberg and Crestway high school girls last Tuesday, November 24.

The packs, which form part of the club’s community project known as “Girls Supporting Girls”, contain one bar of soap, one pack of sanitary towels and an antiperspirant deodorant.

The project is wholly sponsored by a girls’ school in Germany which raised the funds. The next beneficiary school will be Lavender Hill High School.

Tokai Lions Club thanked principal Isaac Arendse and deputy principal Judy De Stadler from Steenberg High School and Adele Poggenpoel, Head of Department at Crestway High School for their help with the project.
