Don’t dump

Antilope Street

Patricia van der Ross, Ward 65 Councillor

There is a serious issue with the dumping in Ward 65 and the streets that are affected are Antilope Street; corner of 3rd Avenue and Old Strandfontein Road; corner of 4th Avenue and Old Strandfontein Road; and corner of Blesbok and Kudu avenues.

A day after cleaning, the dump-ing takes place again.

We have residents in the community dumping building rubble, beds, mattresses, broken equipment after it has been stripped of copper, and sometimes just household dirt.

My plea to the community is to please report the culprits who are dumping.

Let’s work together to keep the area clean.

Our Solid Waste Department has a huge area to cover and I wish to thank them for continuously coming out and assisting us.

To report illegal dumping in our community, call 0860 103 089.

If you have the culprit’s vehicle registration number and/or can identify them, call 021 400 6157 or email solidwaste.bylaw@capetown.gov.za

Illegal dumping is a huge problem that we wish to curb and or completely stop.

As the ward councillor this is my plea to the community of Ward 65, take ownership and thank you in advance.
