Driver’s licence project

Donovan Nelson, Ward 65 councillor

I am delighted to announce the launch of the Driver’s License Project in Ward 65. The primary objective of this project is to enhance the quality of life for young Capetonians by providing them with the opportunity to become employable through the acquisition of a driver’s licence.

The project is set to begin as soon as applications are finalised and a contractor is appointed. Eligible participants must be unemployed residents of areas within Sub-council 18 (Ward 65), in possession of a valid ID (identity document) and a learner’s licence document (not expiring within the next six months), and be able to read and write in English. Commitment to attend and complete the driver’s licence training is also required.

To apply for the programme, interested individuals must submit certified copies of their ID and learner’s licence document, along with a proof of address signed by the ward councillor, to the Sub-council 18 Administration Office, located at the corner of Buck Road and 6th Avenue, Lotus River, by no later than Friday August 18.
