Women who took part in an empowerment workshop at Where Rainbows Meet Training and Development Foundation in Vrygrond showed how easy it is to turn waste into art. The women collected recyclable refuse and on Friday May 4 they made colourful, sustainable garden art from fabric, plastic bottles, labels, shells, stones and sand. The women were given an opportunity to express themselves in a personal, creative, artistic and environmentally friendly way. The art objects were then placed in the garden of the foundation and symbolise learning about differences, sustainability and environmentally friendly behaviour.
