The eight instalment of the annual festival started on Wednesday November 28 with an in-school programme at Capricorn Primary School and the main festival that ran from Friday November 29 until Sunday December 1 and included various workshops, performances – a parade, poetry slam, a market and various other fun activities in Vrygrond. ASSITEJ South Africa director, Yvette Hardie, said children and youth from the vibrant but deprived community are engaged in theatre made specifically for them and with them.
