Floreat Primary School in Steenberg came out tops in the first round of the Growsmart literacy competition. The school’s pupils took part in the first round of the competition’s spelling, maths and science categories and won each of the categories. The Growsmart literacy competition, an initiative started by Growthpoint properties and supported by the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) will have the semi finals in August. Last year the school came second in the finals, winning R50 000, coming in behind Levana Primary School.
