Four arrested in drugs bust

Three people were arrested for dealing in drugs in Trevor Siljeur Road, Vrygrond, on Friday November 9.

Muizenberg police found 116 sticks of dagga, 20 mandrax tablets and a large amount of loose dagga. The three people arrested, aged 29, 39 and 40, all residents of Vrygrond, were due to appear in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court.

* Operation Thunder Unit and the K9 Unit were called for backup in Park Road, Wynberg, on Sunday November 11, at 4pm.

Wynberg police spokesperson Captain Ntombi Lindipasi said on arrival, a house was searched where they found 1 048 mandrax tablets and more than a kilo of tik, worth an estimated R200 000; R10 500 in cash and three scales.

Currently running in the Western Cape, Operation Thunder was launched on May 15 and is the South African Police Service’s intensive intervention and stabilisation programme.

A 38-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs and was due to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court yesterday, Tuesday November 13.
