St Anne’s Catholic Church, Steenberg, had its annual bazaar including a Glamorous Granny competition, on Saturday October 5. The competition was open to all the grandmothers of the parish and a number of entries were received over the weeks leading up to the competition. Bonita Bee, the secretary of the finance council, said the event was held at the parish hall where the grannies strutted their stuff to the cheers of onlooking bazaar-goers. Their ages ranged from 50 to 86. She said a few of them rocked to the beat of the music, garnering the favour of the crowd and judges alike. The event was arranged by Suzanne Lotriet who is part of the fund-raising committee.
