Police acting on tip-offs arrested four people and took as many guns off the streets of Lavender Hill last week.
The Anti-Gang Unit led the operation on
Friday October 4 that saw several houses searched.
According to provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Novela Potelwa, officers arrested a 52-year-old woman in Botha Street after she was found with a 9mm pistol and several rounds of ammunition.
The arrest of a 31-year-old man followed – also for the alleged possession of a 9mm pistol and ammunition.
The unit arrested a 45-year-old man after finding a revolver and ammunition at a premises in Grindle Avenue.
And at De Waal Court, police arrested an 18-year-old who was allegedly found with a 9mm pistol and ammunition.
All four suspects are believed to be linked to a gang.
