Police need residents’ help to nab the gunmen involved in the fatal shooting of two men in Lavender Hill last week.
Steenberg police spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg said two men, aged 25 and 45, were gunned down on Tuesday November 26 in Fifth Avenue Village Heights in St Montague Village at about 10.20pm.
The shooting is believed to be gang-related.
“The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested. The circumstances are still sketchy.”

Officers from the Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) who were patrolling and conducting stop-and-search operations in St Bonniface Street in Lavender Hill, arrested a 29-year-old man on Thursday November 28 at about 9.40pm for possession of an unlicensed revolver and ammunition. The suspect appeared in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday December 2.
In an unrelated matter, officers from the CPU arrested a 22-year-old man in Shepherd Court in Lavender Hill on Friday November 29 at about 7.30pm after they attended to reports of a shooting in Lavender Hill. Officers spotted the sus-
pect, gave chase and apprehended him with a 9mm pistol in his possession.
The suspect appeared in Wynberg Magistrate’s court.
