The Cape Town Islamic Educational Centre (CTIEC), in Eagle Park, hosted the Grand Moulood 1439, on Sunday January 28. Hundreds of devotees from across Cape Town, including guests from Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal, attended the event. The proceedings started with a peace walk led by Moulana Sayed Imraan Ziyaee and the CTIEC Ulama, from the centre to the Masjidul Kareem Centre. The sounds of nasheeds and salutations filled the air as women and children turned up in numbers to mark the gathering centred around a message of peace, tolerance, and peaceful co-existence. CTIEC spokesperson Sayed Ridhwaan Mohamed said: “If we wanted to regain our lost glory, then we need to become the embodiment of love of the Prophet.”
