It’s almost time for the annual Southern Mail Wynberg Family Festival, taking place on Friday and Saturday March 2 and 3, at the old Community Chest Carnival grounds, Maynardville Carnival site, Church Street in Wynberg.
Last year’s inaugural event attracted just over 13 000 people and this year festival organisers hope to see 15 000 festival goers enjoying the rich history and culture of Wynberg.
The event will once again feature a host of local artists, bands, entertainers and DJs, from across the Mother City.
There’ll be a variety of more than 80 local and international food and fashion stalls as well as the original Community Chest Carnival amusement rides offering breathtaking rides for adults and children.
Two of the first confirmed artists for the festival who promise to take the audience by storm with their performances are Garner Nel, who sings rock, pop and ballades with classical elements and London Louw, who finished in the top 6 of the 2014 season of Idols SA. GoodHope FM and Dr Jules will be broadcasting live from the festival on both days.
The City of Cape Town’s safety and security directorate, including fire and rescue, traffic services, law enforcement and Metro police, will be doing a massive display of its capabilities at the festival.
A variety of kiddies entertainment will be available, inclu-
ding pop a balloon, face painting and other exciting shows. Great prizes will be up for
