Colin Arendse, Wynberg
I attended the annual general meeting of the Wynberg Community Policing Forum (CPF) recently and was pleasantly surprised
to hear that Wynberg was the best precinct
in the cluster in
terms of low crime statistics.
Cluster and station management as well as ordinary members of the police service and neighbourhood watches should be commended for a brilliant job despite the challenges.
Thank you also to the CPF for their support street committees which is a national government initiative.
Areas of concern remain the burgeoning drug trade in Lower Wynberg and around the Grand Central flats in Main Road as well as Ebor and Langley roads.
SAPS must keep up the good work and all residents, together with our absent ward committees, are encouraged to play their part in contributing towards a crime-free environment.
