Staff of Cape Community Newspapers (CCN), which publishes the Southern Mail, did their bit for Mandela Day in Brackenfell last week. CCN, which publishes 15 titles, provided a nutritious lunch and goodie bags to seniors and children from Scottsdene on Friday July 14. “We’re very grateful to our advertisers who sponsored the food for the event and made it possible for us to provide this meal for our guests,” said CCN editor, Chantel Erfort. These sponsors included Mother of Plain Food Emporium, Giant Hyper, Winners Supermarket, Food Lover’s Market and The Umtshayelo Foundation (TUF) who made their venue available for the initiative. “It meant a lot to us to be able to do our bit for the seniors and children we hosted on the day.”
