Men caught in smash-and-grab incident

The men who were caught and the dagga found close to the notorious intersection.

Law Enforcement officers acted swiftly last week when they responded to reports of a smash-and-grab that had taken place at a crime hotspot on Friday February
21.

The intersection on the corner of Prince George Drive and Military Road is notorious for smash-and-grabs, robberies, drug peddling and other crimes.

Law Enforcement spokesperson Wayne Dyason said sweet-toothed criminals had taken boxes of marshmallows from a car after breaking a window.

“Swift reaction resulted in the officers catching them near the scene of the incident. The marshmallows were recovered and officers also recovered 30 stoppe dagga in close proximity to the suspects but could not link it to them. No charges were laid so the suspects were released after being profiled,” said Mr Dyason.
