p>New Horizon Civic Association hosted fun activities for the community on Freedom Day, April 27, at their civic hall, to “uplift the youth”. Chairwoman, Laylah Ryklief, said: “We wanted unity among different organisations and we also invited our ward councillor Gerry Gordon, to help celebrate our 23 years of democracy.” A marching band from Fairmount High School entertained the crowd while Horizon United Youth Development boys sold cool drinks to raise funds for their soccer gear and equipment.
