Dancer and choreographer Densley Carolissen, pictured, also known as Lyrical Deezy, has been invited to the intensive master dance training programme, the Urban Dance Camp, in South-West Germany.
Densley, 22, from Seawinds, will be leaving on Saturday July 9 and returning on Saturday August 6.
“It has been my dream to go (to the dance camp) for about five years and now it has finally happened. Previously, I was the 2015 South African locking battle champion and gold medallist.
“My long-term goal with this trip is to plant knowledge (learnt at the camp) back into my community, especially among the youth, and to allow them to dream bigger,” said Densley, who is also the director of the dance group Paradigm at a youth ministry called Deep South, at New Hope Church, in Retreat.
There will be a dance showcase fundraising evening for Densley’s trip on Friday July 8 at New Hope Church, on Joe Marks Boulevard, at 7pm. Entry costs R50. For more information, contact Mr Carolissen on 084 318 0441.
