Ottery appreciates NPO’s gesture

People observed Covid-19 protocols while waiting to be served.

The Upcountry Feeding Hands fed more than 1 500 people from the Ottery flats, on Sunday March 28.

Ieghsaan van der Schyff, chairperson said the non-profit organisation said they wanted to bring “’some relief to the community of Ottery”.

He said: “The people of Ottery showed much appreciation by forming lines in a disciplined order, social distancing. Over 600 masks were handed out sponsored by Anwar Jakoet who also brought the Antabax hand-sanitiser as a blessing.”
