Ottery library celebrated South African Library Week with a tea party – but due to Covid-19 restrictions, they could only invite a few senior citizens.
The theme for Library Week was “Libraries Matter” and senior librarian, Patrick de Stadler, spoke about why libraries matter to the community and how vulnerable people are, especially the elderly who matter to them.
Librarian Sharon Roman read a poem by Julia Donaldson called Library Poem, much to the delight of those at the event. Once formalities were over, they helped themselves to tea and cake, specially baked by Mr De Stadler and Ms Roman for the occasion.
