Plantation Primary shines

Plantation Primary School, in Lotus River, received top awards at the Lotus River library reading competition, on Thursday May 17. Pupils Janina Le Tape, came first and Raquel Waterloo, came second in the English language category and Aisha Cornelius came first in Afrikaans. Plantation Primary has been taking part in the Lotus River library reading competition since 2015. Reading is done in three languages: English, Afrikaans and Xhosa, said principal Cedric Meyer. “We won the English in 2015 and 2016 as well and the Afrikaans in 2016.” Pictured are Valencia Johnson, the facilitator, centre, with Raquel Waterloo and Janina Le Tape, on the left, and Aisha Cornelius, Leah Lawrence and Fatima Ahmed, an observer, on the right.
