Police looking for murder suspects

A case of murder and attempted murder has been opened at the Steenberg police station after a shooting at Ashley Crescent in Lavender Hill last week.

On Friday September 9, at about 6.45pm, police responded to a shooting in the area and found three people who had been shot.

Romano Noble, 27, was shot four times in his chest and was taken to Groote Schuur Hospital but died from his injuries.

Elton van Beulen, 30, was shot twice in his buttocks and once in his shoulder while a 10-year-old girl from Drury Court in Lavender Hill sustained a gunshot wound to her arm.

Station commander Colonel Jan Alex- ander said according to witnesses, a silver VW Golf 7 approached the two men who were gambling on the corner of Ashley Cres- cent.

“One suspect got out of the vehicle and fired several shots at the victims. He got back in the vehicle and they drove off.”

Colonel Alexander confirmed that the incident was gang-related and was a possible revenge attack.

“The case is being investigated and the suspects are still at large,” he said.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting can call Detective Constable Gwarube at Steenberg police at 021 702 9000 or Crime Stop at 0860 010 111. All information would be treated as confidential.
