R100 000 reward to find cop killers

SAPS’ Anti-Gang Unit is offering a reward of R100 000 for the arrest and conviction of the killers of slain policeman, Sergeant Donovan Prins.

The police have asked the public to come forward with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects who were responsible for the murder of Sergeant Prins in June (“In memory of a ‘gentle’ officer”, Southern Mail, July 3).

While performing official duties with a colleague, Sergeant Prins pursued suspects in Lavender Hill, who shot at him. He was wounded and admitted to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The suspects fled and are sought by police.

If you can help the police shed light on their investigation, call Detective Sergeant Patrick Learner on 021 843 1900 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
