The murder case of Rene-Tracey Roman, 13, from St Montague Village, has been transferred to the Western Cape High Court.
Her alleged killer, accused Andrew Plaatjies, 50, appeared via an audio visual link from Pollsmoor Prison to the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday September 11 and family and supporters welcomed the news that the case had been moved to the high court.
The case will be heard on Friday October 20. The accused will stay in custody until his next appearance.
Rene-Tracey’s half decomposed body was found at a neighbour’s house in St Agatha Road, in a wendy house where Mr Plaatjies lived, 11 days after she went missing.
