A supermarket in Retreat Road was robbed on Saturday, November 4, around 8am.
The store owner and staff were threatened with a firearm and bound with cable ties. Seven or eight men were involved in the robbery.
One of the workers was able to hide in the shop and contacted police.
When police arrived, the men fled the scene in a silver Toyota. The police gave chase and a shoot-out left a police officer shot in the right shoulder.
The men got away with cigarettes, a cellphone, cash and a computer, all to the value of R30 000.
