Seniors’ trip a hit

Pastor Michelle Arendse and her team at the non-profit organisation Woman of Action stole the hearts of the seniors of Lavender Hill, Steenberg, Capricorn and Lotus River when she took them on a trip to Hermanus on Saturday October 29.

Pastor Arendse said they had been organising events for the seniors for 15 years.

“It was just so awesome to see the joy and happiness on the seniors’ faces when we arrived at Hermanus. They are like prisoners in their own homes due to the shooting and violence they face every day. They had reason to come out of their environment for a day to have some peace and enjoy themselves. What a pleasure to have been surrounded by such lovely people,” said Ms Arendse.

Ms Arendse said they are planning to have lunch, at a premises on the corner of Prince George Drive and Military Road, in Retreat, on Saturday November 11 and if anyone wants to join or contribute to the lunch they can contact her at 079 941 0533.
