Sharing ladles of love

Danny Diliberto, founder of Ladles of Love, centre, receives the tinned food from teachers Ayesha Galant and Robin Chippert.

Otters’ Creek Junior School in Ferness Estate collected in excess of 400 food items for Ladles of Love, a non-profit organisation that specialises in feeding the needy.

Reza Abader, principal of Otters’ Creek, said the school initiated the fund-raiser three years ago. “Last term we had the Labour of Love which involved knitted squares for blankets and this term it’s the Ladles of love. We have been doing this for the third year and the learners bring the cans which earns their house points. This year greenhouse won and they got rewarded with an extended interval.”

Mr Abader said the pupils were so motivated that two brothers used their pocket money to buy 80 cans.
