Soup kitchen team hosts Christmas party

The Trinity Methodist Church Heathfield soup kitchen hosted a Christmas party for the less fortunate from Retreat, Steenberg, Vrygrond, Lavender Hill and Capricorn Park, on Tuesday November 26. Carol Carelse, the soup kitchen coordinator, said adults were given a food bucket and a take-away meal and the children a meal, a party pack and a toy. “We have been feeding soup, bread, rolls and sandwiches to between 100 and 130 adults and children every Tuesday for 17 years. We would like to thank our congregation who made it possible that we could give each one a bucket,” said Ms Carelse. Pictured is the soup kitchen team. Picture: Supplied
