Police found dagga worth R15 000 – 70 parcels wrapped in newspaper and two large plastic bags full – at a home in Overcome Heights, on Monday May 21, at 3.30am, after receiving a tip-off.
Captain Stephen Knapp, spokesperson for Muizenberg police, said a 42-year-old woman was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics and detained at Muizenberg police station.
She was due to appear in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday May 23.
Captain Knapp said Muizenberg Crime Prevention Unit (CPU), under the command of Captain
Lukhanyo Magadla, acted on information from the community about drugs at an informal residence where they discovered a padlocked rubbish bin in the bedroom containing the dagga.
LieutenantColonel Mzwandile Gqabi, acting station commander of Muizenberg police station, thanked the officers for their good work and commended the community for having trust in SAPS.
He urged the community to help police by providing information about where drugs are being kept. Anybody with information is asked to contact the Muizenberg police station on 021 787 9000/14/15. Police said all information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
