Tree planting

The Parks and Recreations department and the Ward Councillor Sharon Cottles office plant a new tree at the Citys Solid Waste Management Department in Rosmead Avenue, Wynberg.

The City’s Parks and Recreations department has been planting indigenous trees in various parts of Cape Town, and last Thursday, June 13, they planted a Trichilia emetica, an indigenous evergreen hardwood tree, at the Solid Waste Management Department in Rosmead Avenue, Wynberg. Parks and Recreation Department superintendent Danie van Jaarsveld says it is a good idea planting trees in June as the province receives a good rainfall during winter, compared to planting trees in September during Arbor week when there is less rainfall.
