Pupils from Crescent and Heathfield primary schools joined other community volunteers for an Arbor Month tree-planting ceremony at the Mocke River Wetlands in Punt's Estate, on Wednesday September 29. Crescent Primary principal Naseerudin Harneker, pictured talking to the pupils, said they were helping to rehabilitate the wetland and “enhance the recreational value of the greenbelt”. The theme for this year’s Arbor Month is “Forest restoration: A path to recovery and well-being.”The pupils get their hands dirty as they plant trees.
