A 55-year-old woman was arrested after drugs with a street value of over R16 000 were found in Cafda on Tuesday March 3, at 6.22pm.
Steenberg police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, said officers from the station’s Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) in partnership with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) executed a search warrant at a premises in Hugo Naude Street.
While searching the premises the members found 170 half mandrax tablets, three crushed mandrax tablets, 285 whole mandrax tablets, 152 packets of tik, 288 dagga stoppe and an undisclosed amount of cash.
“The drugs were found hidden between the bricks in the back yard. The estimated street value of the drugs is about R16 500,” said Sergeant Twigg.
The woman appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday March 5 on charges relating to dealing in drugs.
