Donovan Nelson, Ward 65 councillor
As we embark on a new year, I extend my warmest wishes for a prosperous year ahead to you and your families. The swift passage of 2023 serves as a reminder of the nature of time and the importance of cherishing each moment.
In the past year, we witnessed a surge in requests for new refuse bins, primarily due to theft. In response to your concerns, we have streamlined the replacement process. You therefore no longer require a police case number for a new bin. Simply contact my office with your account number, and we will ensure the delivery of a new bin within three days. Alternatively, you can use the City of Cape Town’s service request online platform for your convenience.
I also want to address the issue of rate rebates. I encourage every eligible resident to apply for these rebates. Financial assistance is available, and we don’t want anyone missing out due to unawareness or inaction. If you cannot afford your rates, make contact with our Plumstead office or your local ward councillor’s office.
I am launching a monthly newsletter to keep you updated on our ward’s developments. I take pride in the progress we’ve made over the past two years and am optimistic about our future endeavours, now that a solid foundation is in place. To receive the newsletter, kindly email me at Donovan.Nelson@capetown.gov.za, and we will add you to our mailing list.
Wishing you a year filled with prosperity, safety, and blessings.
