Muizenberg police arrested a 54-year-old Overcome Heights man after they found over 200 sticks of dagga as well as one parcel of the narcotic at his home on Wednesday July 27, at about 2.30pm.
Officers under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Deidré Engelbrecht were busy with foot patrols in Overcome Heights when they received a tip-off from the community about possible drug dealing at the man’s home in 7th Avenue.
Officers found the dagga when they searched the house.
The man appeared in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday July 28.
* Officers from the Public Order Policing (POP) department arrested a 48-year-old man in Trevor Siljeur Road, Vrygrond, after he was found with almost 160 mandrax tablets in his possession on Thursday July 28, at about 8.45am.
The officers were busy with patrols when they noticed the man who attempted to flee from police but was caught.
He appeared in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court on Friday July 29.
Muizenberg station commander Colonel Ismail Daniels thanked the community for the tip-offs and urged them to continue providing information that will help combat crime.
