The Education Fish Tank facilitated a discussion around decolonisation in education which was hosted at Parkwood Primary School on Thursday April 13.
Guest speaker Professor Crain Soudien, the Chief Executive Officer of the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), went into detail about the implications of colonialism and racism.
The talk was part of a monthly open discussion by the Education Fish Tank, a group of people who discuss various South African issues to create better understanding about how the country’s education system works. They also discuss the challenges and theoretical approaches to educational thinking and curriculum design, as well as more specialist aspects of education.
