Grassy Park police station set on fire

Grassy Park police station commander Colonel Shaun van Wyk has vowed to catch those responsible for an arson attack at the station last week.

On Sunday May 28, at about 3am, a fire was started with petrol in the evidence management office on the first floor of the station in Reddy Avenue.

A case of arson was opened.

Colonel Van Wyk has asked the community to come forward with information about the fire and said the case is under intense investigation.

Philip Bam, public relations officer for the Grassy Park Community Police Forum (CPF), is concerned about such attacks on the police station.

“We see this in a very serious light and regard such an attack as tantamount to an attack on the State.

“These destructive attacks
on our community institutions is unacceptable,” said Mr Bam. If you have information call
