Steenberg police is asking for help in a double murder case.
On Sunday March 5 at about 12.40am officers were called out to the Retreat Community Health Centre where two men were declared dead.
The two men, 59-year-old Lesley Fortune from Bothma Street in Steenberg and 54-year-old Henry Fortune from 11th Avenue were both fatally stabbed in the chest.
It is alleged that the victims, who are brothers, were on their way home with friends when they were confronted by 2 unknown suspects.
These suspects wanted to know whether they are gangsters and a fight broke out. One of the suspects had a knife and stabbed the victims and the suspects fled on foot.
Steenberg police have opened a murder case and the suspects are unknown at this stage.

On Sunday March 5 at about 6.30pm officers from the Operation Combat Unit received information that drugs were being sold from a house in St Boniface Street in Lavender Hill.
When police searched the premises they found a plastic bag with 54 sticks of dagga, 17 plastic bags of tik and 12 half mandrax tablets on the roof of the carport.
Steenberg police arrested a 35-year-old woman after opening a case of possession of drugs.
The suspect appeared at the Wynberg Magistrate’s court on Monday March 6.

On Saturday March 4 at about 5pm Steenberg police was called out to the Retreat Community Health Centre to speak to a gunshot patient.
The victim, a 34-year-old man, sustained two gunshot wounds to his buttocks when someone fired shots at him when he got out of his car, a red Honda Ballade in Retreat Road.
No arrests have been made at this stage and Steenberg police have opened a case of attempted murder.

On Saturday March 4 at about 11pm police received a call about a business robbery and carjacking at a shop in Allenby Drive in Steenberg.
A 29-year-old Bangladeshi immigrant was closing his shop in Allenby Drive when two men entered the shop with guns.
The suspects ordered the shop owner and his partner to lay on the ground and five more suspects entered. The suspects robbed the complainant of cigarettes to the value of R40 000, R30 000 in cash, two cellphones, and hookah flavours to the value of R3 000.
A customer then entered the shop and was ordered, at gunpoint, by the robbers to lay on the ground.
The robbers then took the car of the second victim after forcing his wife and child out of the white Toyota Auris (CA 893 444).
