Staff and pupils at Sullivan Primary School showed their love and support for two of their pupils who have cancer, by wearing pink on Friday March 18.
Principal Denver Cloete said a Grade R pupil Leah De Claudio and Grade 4 pupil Caithlyn Asia had not been able to attend school as they have been undergoing chemotherapy and were suffering the side effects thereof.
The pupils, however, stood in assembly praying for their little friends and saying they love them, said Mr Cloete.
“Leah has a tumour and she could not come to school because she was feeling sick after the chemo therapy.”
Southern Mail visited Caithlyn but the family did not say much, only confirming that she has lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease.
“The school will continue supporting the two girls and their families,” said Mr Cloete.
“We are here for them.”
