* The annual Peninsula Paddle took place on Sunday June 5 and coincided with World Environment Day. This adventure route takes to the canals, vleis and rivers that cross the Cape Peninsula from Muizenberg to Milnerton. This year, more than 80 paddlers took to the water in various crafts. Their goal is to highlight the state of Cape Town’s waterways and beaches. Founded in June 2010, the Peninsula Paddle is an annual event that aims to raise awareness of social and environmental concerns affecting the rivers in our city.
Taking a break at Sybrand Park are Ashley Heivel of Retreat, Virgil van der Horst of Heathfield and Deon Dirkson of Diep River.
