Grassy Park police are investigating a case of double murder following a shooting in Lotus River.
Two men, aged 26 and 45, were shot and killed on Friday October 25 at 9.15am at VW Polo Motors iin Zeekoe Road, Lotus River.
Grassy Park police spokesperson, Captain Wynita Kleinsmith, said according to reports the victims were busy working in the workshop when an unknown man entered and opened fire.
The 45-year-old died on the scene after being shot in the chest and abdomen. The 26-year-old was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to the head but later died.
“The shooter fled the scene and is yet to be arrested,” said Captain Kleinsmith.
Police are also asking for the community’s help to find a suspect wanted for house robbery.
The person pictured in the identikit was with two other men when they robbed a woman in Ivy Road in Parkwood on Monday April 29.
Captain Kleinsmith said the men approached the woman as she was entering her home and took money, her bank card, clothes and shoes.
The main suspect is between the age of 19 and 23, between 1.6m and 1.65m tall and has a slender build. He has a dark complexion and has acne scars all over his face and dark bags under his eyes.
Grassy Park police station commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, advised residents to be vigilant at all times and to stay calm.
“Do not threaten or challenge the perpetrators, try to get as much information as possible without posing a threat.
“Phone the police as soon as possible after the robbers have left the scene and make a note of any specific identifying marks on the getaway vehicle and facial identikit of suspects.”
