Three suspects have been arrested and have appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court for the kidnapping of a Grassy Park businessman.
Mustafa Goolam, who is from Bangladesh, was taken from his shop Food Town in Lotus River on Sunday December 4 while locking up his store.
He was grabbed by two men and was driven off in a gold Toyota Carolla.
He was the second businessman to be kidnapped in the past month. Athlone businessman Naushad Khan is still missing after he was abducted by five men at his business in the area.
After investigation by police the 35-year old Mr Goolam was found in a house in Khayelitsha and three people – among them two Pakistani nationals Haseem Khalied and Zibi Jahazab and a local woman Ntombikhona Mgxekwa – were arrested.
The three appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Friday December 9 and will appear for a bail hearing later this week.
