Where Rainbows Meet Training and Development Foundation in Vry-grond suffered a huge setback when their well-point’s water-pump, wire-ring and piping worth R40 000 were stolen between Friday October 12 and Sunday October 14.
Founder Mymoena Scholtz, said the burglary took place while they were not there.
Ms Scholtz said Where Rainbows Meet grows a vegetable garden to support the community
in need. “We use the vegetables for our kitchen, to make food for
the community, we also supply crèches and we sell it to the
community when they are in
need.”
She said the well-point was beneficial during this water restriction period. “It was very expensive to maintain this garden and it is very sad that they would steal from
us.”
If anyone would like to support them to recreate the garden they can contact Ms Scholtz on 073 261 8864 or Kyle Cupido on 063 628 5147.
