Overmeyer, a nine-time SA Singles champion, beat Stephanians Table Tennis Club’s Ashlyn Wagner in the 40-plus division men’s final and will now be seeking his 10th singles title at this week’s SA Open, which takes place at the same venue. Picture Fuad Esack Beacon Valley bodybuilder Tyren Fortuin, 34, walked away winner in the over-80kg division, at the Ikasi Classics Bodybuilding Show, held the Mew Way sports hall, in Khayelitsha, on Saturday. Fortuin is a member of Chezzy’s Hardcore Gym, which is affiliated to the South African Natural Bodybuilding Association (SANBA) and run by bodybuilding legend Chezerley Zyster, from Rocklands. Strandfontein long distance runner Percy Kelly, 58, finished 12th overall and third in the 50-plus division, in the Laingsburg12km Race at the weekend. Kelly has also been impressive on the WP masters’ cross country circuit, finishing in the top three in the 50-plus division, at various events this year. Ranked 127th in his age group in the 5000m race and Number 1 on the continent in his division, Kelly now he has his sights on representing South Africa at the African Masters track and field championships, at Pilditch Stadium, in Pretoria, in November, but needs to raise funds to help cover his costs.
