Boxer Asavela Peter, at just 19 years old, is establishing himself as a formidable presence in the flyweight division.
Under the guidance of Zola Koti and Cassiem Hassan at Future Champs in Philippi, Peter achieved a flawless record of three wins in three fights on Saturday night, March 3, in Ottery.
His most recent victory came through a second-round knockout against Xhanti Jafta from Mossel Bay, during a Jackie Brice Boxing Promotions event at Vibrant Sports Academy.
This triumph followed a unanimous points decision win over Ndabazintle Plaatjies in Bellville last August and a striking debut victory against Luthando Makhubalo in May the same year.
In the spirit of developing boxing in the province, the promoter Brice acknowledged his sponsors for the assistance in putting together a five-fight showcase of 10 professional boxers from the Western Cape, headlined by Shameeg Williams and Siphenathi Qampi.
Reflecting on his latest performance, the young Peter expressed his satisfaction, saying he has to get back to the training room to restart again for the next challenge.
Trainer Koti praised Peter’s dedication and talent, extending gratitude to Jackie Brice Boxing Promotions for providing a platform for showcasing Peter’s skills.
Koti highlighted the team’s commitment to continuous improvement, acknowledging the challenges ahead.
