Capricorn resident, and police officer, Detective Constable Julian Jacobs, has set up the “Keep warm, Keep healthy project” in Capricorn as he believes the biggest need in the community is “getting warm clothes and warm food to vulnerable children.”
Detective Constable Jacobs is also a minister and runs the children’s Unlimited Spiritual Dance Group with kids from Capricorn.
He said: “Given the cold, there are also more homemade fires which can get out of control and lead to major incidents. So, the need for warm clothes at this time is also about safety and security.”
As the need is great, Detective Constable Jacobs is asking members of the community to help by donating warm clothes for children in Capricorn at the drop off point at Pick n Pay Clothing, Capricorn Square. Old and new clothing for ages 0 to 14 years will be appreciated.
