More than 4 000 people, including Muslims and people from other faiths in Parkwood, enjoyed a mass street boeka (iftaar) catered with food, drinks and treats, on Sunday May 19. A one-kilometre long table setting stretched along Blackbird Avenue before Magrieb (evening prayers) while a 400-litre pot of ahkni was prepared by members of different organisations as well as the community and volunteers of organisers, Jabulani. Moulana Ismail Toufie of Masjied us Sabr said it will not do justice to thank individuals because it was a “community effort.”
